The Children
At present there are over 560 children, of different backgrounds, with ages ranging from 4 to 18. Of these, the 400 boarding in the school hostel are either destitute, orphans, refugees, displaced, physically disabled or street children, vulnerable to all forms of child abuse such as child labour, trafficking, and addiction.
While we give importance to gender mix, there is more focus on girls because of their increased vulnerability.
75% of the children come from the remote and inaccessible mountainous northern regions of Mustang, Dolpa, Humla, Langtang, Solokhumbu etc., 20% from the plains of south-western Terai and 10% from Kathmandu. |

The majority of them share a similar background of hardship and deprivation.
Without our help, there would be no opportunity of going to school, having a decent meal, being protected, having decent clothes and a sheltered home. Most, when they arrive, are severely malnourished, and some ill. |
 |
The majority are orphans or semi-orphans; come from broken or destitute families and, in some cases suffer symptoms of physical and mental abnormality. |

Thanks to the support and generosity of individual donors, sponsors and funding associations, these children are now enjoying the opportunity to grow up, as normal children, in a secure environment.
Where all their basic needs are being well taken care of under the convention of UNO’s Child Rights. |
